Make a Real Impact – With a Team That’s Got Your Back
Looking for a practice where your ideas are valued, your development is a priority, and your work-life balance is protected? Then we could have the role for you!
Abbey Vets has a fantastic opportunity for a confident, first opinion, all round GP Vet to join our close-knit, forward-thinking team.
We’re looking for someone who can bring their skills and experience to the table and would be particularly interested in applications from those with a surgical bias.
Our Practice:
- 4 RCVS-accredited branches with recent refurbishments
- All sites are well-equipped with in house blood machines, ultrasound and X-ray
- Abergavenny is our main hub, and has the benefit of newly bought DR X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, laser therapy, and blood gas machines
- 24-hour on site nurse-led in-patient care Monday–Friday
- Clinical freedom with excellent internal case support
- Strong team of 12 vets, including cert holders in Medicine & Radiology + visiting Specialists
- Surgical mentorship available from cert AVP, to enable development of advanced surgical procedure skills
So why join Abbey Vets?
- Strong team spirit – We look out for each other, celebrate wins, and support each other through tough days.
- Genuine work-life balance – No skipping lunch breaks or taking work home. We build admin time into your day.
- Career development – Thinking about a certificate? We’ll fully support it. Prefer to lead or specialise? We’ll help you grow.
- Family-friendly – We work with you to make being both a vet and a parent possible.
- A place to enjoy work – From team socials to daily dog walks (optional!) and downtime spaces at every branch.
Some comments from our team:
“I started at Abbey in September 2022 following a career break. Coming back into practice initially seemed daunting but was made much easier with a friendly and supportive team. There is a collaborative approach to cases and fabulous nursing and admin support. There are new ultrasound and x-ray systems, and time built into the day for work ups and admin. Flexibility with hours and a family friendly approach has allowed me to find a better work life balance.” R, joined us in 2022
“Starting at Abbey Vets as a New Grad has been a great experience and has helped me to develop my skills and confidence in both surgical and medical cases. Being part of a great team of both more experienced vets, and vets at my experience level means there is a great range of support to draw from, and the environment encourages learning and improving skills.” E, joined us in 2021
